Two new members appointed to LRC

    The Law Reform Commission today (December 29) announced the appointment of two new members.

     The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, has appointed Ms Anna Wu and Mr Paul Shieh, SC, as members of the commission.  

     Ms Wu is a solicitor with a long record of public service.  She is a former member of the Legislative Council, and has chaired the Equal Opportunities Commission and the Consumer Council.

     Mr Shieh is a Senior Counsel who is currently a member of the Law Reform Commission's Conditional Fees sub-committee.
 
     Ms Wu's appointment takes effect from January 1, 2006, and Mr Shieh's from February 1, 2006.  Both Ms Wu and Mr Shieh have been appointed for three years.

     The current members of the commission are:

     Mr Wong Yan Lung, SC, Secretary for Justice (Chairman)

     The Hon Chief Justice Andrew Li (Chief Justice)

     Mr Tony Yen, SBS, JP (Law Draftsman)

     The Hon Mr Justice Bokhary, PJ

     Dr John Bacon-Shone

     Professor Albert Chen, JP

     Mr Anthony Chow, SBS, JP

     Professor Y K Fan, BBS, JP

     Professor Michael McConville

     Mr Benjamin Yu, SC, JP
