Appeal for information on robbery in Tsuen Wan (with photo)

Police today (December 28) appealed for information on a robbery case occurred in Tsuen Wan in November this year.

Police enquiries revealed that shortly after 8 pm on November 22, a 55-year-old male driver loaded 208 boxes of electronic components onto his medium goods vehicle (MGV) in an industrial building on Fui Yiu Kok Street.

When he was about to leave the building, a culprit suddenly appeared and smashed the driver window with the handle of a knife. The culprit then jumped onto the driver seat, declared robbery and forced the man to move to the passenger seat.

The culprit drove the vehicle slowly forward with a view to picking up his male accomplice who was at a short distance ahead. Meanwhile, the victim managed to escape and ran away to make a report to the Police.

Police subsequently located the MGV in an open space container carpark near Wong Uk Tsuen in Tuen Mun with all the electronic components onboard the vehicle missing.

Initial calculation revealed that the electronic components worth about $2 million.

Aged about 25 to 30, the first culprit who was holding a knife is about 1.7 metres tall and of thin build while the second culprit aged about 40 is standing about 1.67 metres and of fat build. Both of them were wearing blue jackets and blue jeans when committing the crime.

Investigations by District Crime Squad of Tsuen Wan are proceeding.
