Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 29-year-old man was killed in Wong Tai Sin last (December 24) evening.
Shortly before 10 pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 24-year-old man travelling along the westbound of Lung Cheung Road reportedly rammed into a bus driven by a 52-year-old man stopping outside Wong Tai Sin Shopping Centre for alighting passengers.
The 29-year-old male passenger of the LGV was trapped inside the vehicle after the impact and was later rescued by firemen.
Sustaining serious injuries, the LGV passenger and the 24-year-old driver were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where the former was certified dead at 10.50 pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic Kowloon East is ongoing.
