Special traffic arrangements for international cycling race

    Police will implement temporary traffic arrangements in Kowloon and Tsing Yi on Monday (December 26) to facilitate the holding of an international cycling race.

     The arrangements are as follows:

(A) Temporary traffic arrangements in Kowloon

     The following roads will be intermittently closed from about 8 am when the racers leave the starting point at the Avenue of Stars until the roads are re-opened for normal traffic:

- A section of northbound Nathan Road between Salisbury Road and Jordan Road;
- At the junction of Salisbury Road and Nathan Road;
- At the junction of Haiphong Road and Nathan Road;
- At the junction of Austin Road and Nathan Road;
- At the junction of Bowring Street and Nathan Road;
- At the junction of westbound Jordan Road and Nathan Road;
- At the junction of eastbound Pilkem Street and Jordan Road;
- At the junction of eastbound Woosung Street and Jordan Road;
- At the junction of southbound Shanghai Street and Jordan Road;
- At the junction of Ferry Street and Jordan Road;
- At the junction of Canton Road and Jordan Road;
- At the junction of Lin Cheung Road and Jordan Road; and
- The two rightmost lanes of the northbound carriageway of West Kowloon Highway.

(B) Temporary traffic arrangements in the New Territories

     The two rightmost lanes of the northbound carriageway of Tsing Kwai Highway will be intermittently closed from about 8.05 am until the road is re-opened for normal traffic.

     The following traffic arrangements will be implemented in Tsing Yi from about 7 am until the roads are re-opened for normal traffic:

(I) Lane closures

- The westbound carriageway of Ching Hong Road;
- A section of the southbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road West between Ching Hong Road and Tsing Yi Road;
- A section of the northbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road between the southbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road West and Tsing Yi Interchange, including the slip road underpassing Tsing Yi Interchange onto Tsing Yi Bridge; and
- A section of the southbound carriageway of Tsing Yi Road between Tsing Yi Interchange and Ching Hong Road.

(II) Traffic Diversion

- Motorists on southbound Tsing Yi Road West heading for Tsing Yi Road/Cheung Tsing Highway are advised to travel via eastbound Ching Hong Road, northbound Tsing Yi Road (Mayfair Gardens Section), Tsing Yi Interchange, southbound Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section), northbound Tsing Yi Road West and Cheung Tsing Highway;

- Motorists on westbound Tsing Yi Bridge heading for Ching Hong Road are advised to travel via northbound Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road, westbound Chung Mei Road and eastbound Ching Hong Road;

- Motorists on westbound Tsing Yi Bridge heading for Cheung Tsing Highway are advised to travel southbound Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section), northbound Tsing Yi Road West and Cheung Tsing Highway;

- Motorists on Cheung Tsing Highway heading for Tsing Yi Road are advised to travel via northbound Tsing Yi Road West, eastbound Ching Hong Road and Tsing Yi Road (Mayfair Gardens Section);

- Motorists on Tsing Yi Hong Wan Road heading for Tsing Yi Bridge are advised to travel via southbound Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section), northbound Tsing Yi Road West, eastbound Ching Hong Road, northbound Tsing Yi Road (Mayfair Gardens Section), Tsing Yi Interchange and Tsing Yi Bridge; and

- All vehicles access to Rambler Crest, except green minibus routes 88F and 88G, are advised to divert via Tsing Hung Road and vehicles exit from Rambler Crest can only turn right from Tsing Hung Road onto southbound Tsing Yi Road (Container Terminal 9 Section).

     Police appeal to motorists to exercise patience and to follow Police instructions at scene.
