The Government announced today (December 23) the re-appointment of 12 members and the appointment of five new members to the Appeal Board panel under the Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance. The members will serve for a period of two years, with effect from January 1, 2006.
The new membership list is as follows-

A government spokesman said, "We are glad that the 12 incumbent and five new members have accepted their re-appointments and appointments. We are also grateful for the service of the retiring members, Mr Ambrose Ho (Chairman), Mr Christopher Chung Shu-kun, JP, Prof Joseph Lai Ki-leuk, Mr Luk Wai-kong and Mr Danny Ngai Kam-fai, JP, in the past years."
The Appeal Board is responsible for hearing appeals against enforcement decisions or action taken by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise under the Toys and Children's Products Safety Ordinance. When convened, the Board should consist of the Chairman or Deputy Chairman of the Appeal Board panel, who should be the Chairman of the Appeal Board, and one member each from the other categories of panel members.
