The Government announced today (December 23) the re-appointment of eight members of the Consumer Council:
Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, BBS, JP
Mr Brian Li Man-bun
Miss Anita Ma Wing-tseung
Mrs Josephine Mak Chen Wen-ning, BBS
Dr Elizabeth Shing Shiu-ching, JP
Mr Peter Sun Kwok-wah
Dr John Wong Yee-him
Mrs Lily Yew Kuin King-suk
Appointment of four new members was also announced:
Mr Raymond Choy Wai-shek, MH, JP
Mr Ernest Ip Koon-wing
Mr Allen Ma Kam-sing
Professor Wong yung-hou
The re-appointments and appointments are effective for two years from January 1, 2006.
A government spokesman said, "We are delighted that the eight incumbent members and the four new members have accepted the re-appointments and appointments respectively. We are confident that the team of new and serving members, with their expertise and background in different sectors, will provide valuable contributions to the work of the Council in promoting consumer interests."
"We are also grateful for the contribution that the retiring members, Dr Jane Lee Ching-yee, Ms Marina Wong Yu-pok, Dr Matthew Ng Ma-tai and Mr Leo Tsang Wing-sheung, have made in enhancing consumer protection during their terms of appointment," the spokesman added.
The appointments are published in the Government Gazette today.
