The Blood Transfusion Service has called on the public to join the "Let's Give Blood in Heart-warming Winter" campaign to help patients in need of blood transfusions.
Donors who give blood from now until December 31, 2005 will be presented with a specially designed "Heart Warming" blood donation hanging bag (see photo A attached).
During the Christmas and New Year holidays, all donor centres will provide service as usual on Christmas Eve (December 24) and be closed on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year's Day. Some centres will open on December 26 and 27 and January 2, 2006. The Blood Transfusion Service invites you to come with your family members and friends to give blood during the holidays. To enhance the festive atmosphere for your visit, there will be special Christmas celebration activities at donor centres with details in the attached table.
Donors are invited to video-record their blood donation during the festive season so they can enter the "Creative Blood Donation Promotion Short Video Clip" competition (in Chinese) to motivate more people, especially youth, to give blood or become regular blood donors.
