THE NORTHEAST MONSOON IS AFFECTING THE SOUTH CHINA COASTAL
WATERS.

AT 8 P.M., SEVERE TROPICAL STORM KONG-REY WITH MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED WINDS OF ABOUT 105 KILOMETRES PER HOUR NEAR ITS
CENTRE WAS LOCATED AT 17.2 DEGREES NORTH, 128.5 DEGREES
EAST. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 12
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC AND
INTENSIFY GRADUALLY.
