HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
GENERAL SITUATION
TROPICAL CYCLONE TRAMI INTENSIFIED INTO A TYPHOON AND MOVED
TOWARDS THE SEAS SOUTH OF HAINAN ISLAND YESTERDAY. IT THEN
WEAKENED INTO A SEVERE TROPICAL STORM AT NIGHT. MEANWHILE,
THE NORTHEAST MONSOON AFFECTED THE COAST OF SOUTHERN CHINA.
LOCALLY, IT WAS MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. STRONG
WINDS WERE RECORDED OVER MANY PLACES. TRAMI IS EXPECTED TO
LINGER AND WEAKEN OVER THE COAST OF CENTRAL VIETNAM TODAY
AND TOMORROW. THE NORTHEAST MONSOON WILL PERSIST OVER
SOUTHERN CHINA. IT WILL BE BRIGHTER OVER THE COAST OF
SOUTHEASTERN CHINA EARLY THIS WEEK.
BESIDES, AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, TROPICAL STORM KONG-REY WAS
CENTRED ABOUT 1580 KILOMETRES EAST OF MANILA. IT IS
FORECAST TO MOVE WEST AT ABOUT 15 KILOMETRES PER HOUR
ACROSS THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG (SUNDAY, 27 OCT 2024)
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. BRIGHT PERIODS IN THE
AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 25 TO 29
DEGREES. MODERATE TO FRESH EAST TO NORTHEASTERLY WINDS,
STRONG OFFSHORE AND ON HIGH GROUND AT FIRST. SEAS WILL BE
ROUGH WITH SWELLS.
