LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TRIGGERED BY HIGH TEMPERATURES
ARE AFFECTING INLAND GUANGDONG. BESIDES, A BROAD TROUGH OF
LOW PRESSURE IS ALSO BRINGING SHOWERS TO THE NORTHERN PART
OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA.
 
AT 8 P.M., TROPICAL STORM SOULIK WAS CENTRED ABOUT 420
KILOMETRES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF VIENTIANE. IT IS FORECAST TO
MOVE WEST AT ABOUT 10 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS LAOS AND
DISSIPATE GRADUALLY.
 
MEANWHILE, TROPICAL STORM PULASAN WAS CENTRED ABOUT 130
KILOMETRES SOUTHEAST OF SHANGHAI. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 28 KILOMETRES PER HOUR, EDGING
CLOSER TO THE COAST OF EASTERN CHINA.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW
 
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS AND ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE ABOUT 28
DEGREES TOMORROW MORNING. SUNNY INTERVALS DURING THE DAY.
THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE AROUND 32 DEGREES IN THE
URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF DEGREES HIGHER IN THE NEW
TERRITORIES. SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVIER OVER SOME AREAS LATER.
MODERATE EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS.
 
OUTLOOK : MORE SHOWERS OVER THE WEEKEND. TEMPERATURES WILL
FALL PROGRESSIVELY EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE TEMPERATURE WILL BE
AROUND 24 DEGREES ON MONDAY MORNING.
