HERE IS THE LATEST TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN ISSUED
BY THE HONG KONG OBSERVATORY.
THE STRONG WIND SIGNAL, NO. 3 IS IN FORCE.
THIS MEANS THAT WINDS WITH MEAN SPEEDS OF 41 TO 62
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED.
AT 10 A.M., SUPER TYPHOON YAGI WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT
390 KILOMETRES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 19.1
DEGREES NORTH 115.6 DEGREES EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE
WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 12 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE
NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA.
YAGI IS A MATURE STORM. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ITS OUTER

MORNING WITH OCCASIONAL GALE WINDS ON HIGH GROUND.
ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT FORECAST TRACK, YAGI WILL SKIRT
AROUND 300 KILOMETRES TO THE SOUTHWEST OF HONG KONG TONIGHT
AND TOMORROW MORNING. GALES ASSOCIATED WITH YAGI ARE
EXPECTED TO EDGE CLOSER TO THE PEARL RIVER ESTUARY LATER
TODAY. LOCAL WINDS WILL STRENGTHEN FURTHER AND WEATHER WILL
DETERIORATE. THE OBSERVATORY WILL CONSIDER ISSUING THE GALE
OR STORM SIGNAL, NO. 8 BETWEEN 4 P.M. AND 7 P.M. TODAY.
THE OUTER RAINBANDS ASSOCIATED WITH YAGI ARE AFFECTING THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG. SEAS ARE ROUGH WITH SWELLS. MEMBERS OF
THE PUBLIC SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE SHORELINE AND NOT
ENGAGE IN WATER SPORTS. THOSE ENGAGING IN OUTDOOR WORK OR
