THIS MEANS THAT A TROPICAL CYCLONE NOW CENTRED WITHIN ABOUT
800 KILOMETRES OF HONG KONG MAY AFFECT US.
AT MIDNIGHT, SEVERE TROPICAL STORM YAGI WAS ESTIMATED TO BE
ABOUT 590 KILOMETRES SOUTHEAST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 18.8
DEGREES NORTH 118.4 DEGREES EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE
WEST OR WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 10 KILOMETRES PER HOUR
ACROSS THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA AND
INTENSIFY GRADUALLY.
