HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
WINDS ARE WEAK AND IT IS VERY HOT OVER THE COAST OF
SOUTHERN CHINA. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TRIGGERED BY HIGH
TEMPERATURES ARE ALSO AFFECTING THE REGION. LOCALLY,
TEMPERATURES OVER MANY PLACES ROSE TO ABOUT 33 DEGREES
AROUND NOON.


 
AT NOON, TYPHOON SHANSHAN WAS CENTRED ABOUT 530 KILOMETRES
SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF KAGOSHIMA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 18 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE
SEAS SOUTH OF JAPAN.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT


 
MAINLY FINE. VERY HOT WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. LIGHT TO MODERATE WESTERLY
WINDS.


 
OUTLOOK : PERSISTENTLY VERY HOT IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL REACH 35 DEGREES OR ABOVE OVER
PARTS OF THE NEW TERRITORIES. A FEW SHOWERS AND SUNNY
INTERVALS IN THE MIDDLE AND LATTER PARTS OF THIS WEEK.
