HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


GENERAL SITUATION


HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A BROAD
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE AFFECTED THE COAST OF GUANGDONG AND
THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA YESTERDAY.
LOCALLY, IT WAS CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND SQUALLY
THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WERE HEAVY AT TIMES IN THE MORNING.
MORE THAN 50 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL WERE GENERALLY
RECORDED OVER THE TERRITORY, AND AROUND 100 MILLIMETRES OF
RAINFALL WERE EVEN RECORDED OVER THE URBAN AREAS, PARTS OF
LANTAU ISLAND AND CHEUNG CHAU. UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE
BROAD TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE, THE WEATHER WILL REMAIN
UNSETTLED OVER THE COAST OF SOUTHERN CHINA AND THE NORTHERN
PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
THERE WILL BE SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS, SHOWERS
WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES.


WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG (SUNDAY, 18 AUG 2024)


MAINLY CLOUDY WITH OCCASIONAL SHOWERS AND A FEW SQUALLY
THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVY IN SOME AREAS IN THE
MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 26 AND 30 DEGREES.
MODERATE TO FRESH SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS.


OUTLOOK : THE WEATHER WILL REMAIN UNSETTLED IN THE
FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE WILL BE SHOWERS AND SQUALLY
THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL EASE OFF GRADUALLY IN THE
MIDDLE AND LATTER PARTS OF THIS WEEK.
