LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
THE SUBTROPICAL RIDGE IS BRINGING VERY HOT WEATHER TO
SOUTHEASTERN CHINA. MEANWHILE, SHOWERS ARE AFFECTING THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG AND THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA
SEA.


 
AT 4 P.M., THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE CENTRAL PART OF
THE SOUTH CHINA SEA WAS CENTRED ABOUT 190 KILOMETRES
EAST-SOUTHEAST OF XISHA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHWEST
AT ABOUT 14 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE CENTRAL PART OF
THE SOUTH CHINA SEA.
 
BESIDES, THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE WESTERN NORTH
PACIFIC HAS INTENSIFIED INTO A TROPICAL STORM AND WAS NAMED
GAEMI. AT 4 P.M., GAEMI WAS CENTRED ABOUT 790 KILOMETRES
EAST OF MANILA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHWEST AT ABOUT
10 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE SEAS EAST OF THE
PHILIPPINES AND STRENGTHEN SIGNIFICANTLY.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT


 
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. VERY HOT WITH SUNNY
INTERVALS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON.
MODERATE EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS, FRESH LATER. THERE
WILL BE SWELLS.


 
OUTLOOK : THERE WILL BE SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. IT WILL BE WINDIER OFFSHORE AND
ON HIGH GROUND. THERE WILL BE SWELLS. THE WEATHER WILL
IMPROVE MIDWEEK NEXT WEEK. VERY HOT DURING THE DAY APART
FROM ONE OR TWO SHOWERS.
