CORRECTION TO PRESS WEATHER NO. 169

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
THE SUBTROPICAL RIDGE IS COVERING SOUTHEASTERN CHINA.


 
AT 7 P.M, THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE CENTRAL PART OF
THE SOUTH CHINA SEA WAS CENTRED ABOUT 570 KILOMETRES
EAST-SOUTHEAST OF XISHA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 22 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE
CENTRAL PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. BESIDES, THE AREA OF
LOW PRESSURE OVER THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC IS INTENSIFYING
GRADUALLY. A TROPICAL CYCLONE APPEARS TO BE FORMING.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW


 
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE
WILL BE ABOUT 27 DEGREES TOMORROW MORNING. SUNNY INTERVALS
DURING THE DAY WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF AROUND 32
DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF DEGREES HIGHER
IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. MODERATE EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY
WINDS, FRESH LATER TOMORROW.


 
OUTLOOK : THERE WILL BE SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS. IT WILL BE WINDY OFFSHORE
AND ON HIGH GROUND. THERE WILL BE SWELLS. STILL A FEW
SHOWERS MIDWEEK NEXT WEEK.
