HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


GENERAL SITUATION


THE WINTER MONSOON AFFECTED GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY,
IT WAS MAINLY CLOUDY. IT WAS COLD IN THE MORNING. THE
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDED AT THE OBSERVATORY WAS 11.4
DEGREES, THE LOWEST SO FAR THIS WINTER. THE MONSOON WILL
CONTINUE TO AFFECT SOUTHERN CHINA TODAY. A DRY
REPLENISHMENT OF THE MONSOON WILL REACH SOUTHERN CHINA
MIDWEEK THIS WEEK. THE WEATHER WILL IMPROVE AND IT WILL BE
COLD IN THE MORNING OVER THE REGION.


BESIDES, THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE TO THE EAST OF THE
PHILIPPINES INTENSIFIED INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
YESTERDAY, AND WAS NAMED JELAWAT. AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT,
JELAWAT WAS CENTRED ABOUT 1050 KILOMETRES SOUTHEAST OF
MANILA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST AT ABOUT 25 KILOMETRES
PER HOUR TOWARDS THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE PHILIPPINES.


WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG (MONDAY, 18 DEC 2023)


MAINLY CLOUDY. ONE OR TWO LIGHT RAIN PATCHES IN THE
MORNING. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE ABOUT 14 DEGREES
IN THE URBAN AREAS. IT WILL REMAIN COLD WITH GENERALLY A
COUPLE OF DEGREES LOWER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. BRIGHT
PERIODS DURING THE DAY WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF AROUND
19 DEGREES. FRESH NORTHEASTERLY WINDS, OCCASIONALLY STRONG
OFFSHORE AND ON HIGH GROUND AT FIRST. BECOMING MODERATE
EASTERLIES.


OUTLOOK : SUNNY PERIODS ON TUESDAY, MILDER DURING THE DAY.
FINE AND DRY WITH COLD MORNINGS IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF
DAYS.
