LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
THE OUTER SUBSIDING AIR OF SEVERE TYPHOON KOINU IS BRINGING
MAINLY FINE AND VERY HOT WEATHER TO SOUTHERN CHINA.
LOCALLY, THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDED AT THE
OBSERVATORY WAS 34.6 DEGREES IN THE AFTERNOON, THE HIGHEST
TEMPERATURE ON RECORD FOR OCTOBER. BESIDES, SHOWERS
TRIGGERED BY HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE AFFECTING GUANGDONG.


 
AT 4 P.M., KOINU WAS CENTRED ABOUT 250 KILOMETRES
EAST-SOUTHEAST OF GAOXIONG. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST AT
ABOUT 12 KILOMETRES PER HOUR TOWARDS THE VICINITY OF THE
SOUTHERN PART OF TAIWAN.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW


 
MAINLY FINE APART FROM ISOLATED SHOWERS. CLOUDY PERIODS IN
THE MORNING AND AT NIGHT. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE
ABOUT 28 DEGREES. VERY HOT AND DRY DURING THE DAY WITH A
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF AROUND 34 DEGREES, AND A COUPLE OF
DEGREES HIGHER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. LIGHT WINDS,
BECOMING MODERATE TO FRESH NORTHERLY WINDS, OCCASIONALLY
STRONG ON HIGH GROUND.


 
OUTLOOK : WINDIER IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS. IT WILL
BE APPRECIABLY COOLER WITH SHOWERS OVER THE WEEKEND.
