LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
THE NORTHEAST MONSOON IS AFFECTING THE COAST OF GUANGDONG.
MEANWHILE, AN ANTICYCLONE ALOFT IS BRINGING MAINLY FINE AND
VERY HOT WEATHER TO SOUTHERN CHINA. LOCALLY, TEMPERATURES
OVER PARTS OF THE TERRITORY ROSE TO ABOUT 33 DEGREES IN THE
AFTERNOON.
 
TYPHOON KOINU HAS INTENSIFIED INTO A SEVERE TYPHOON. AT 4
P.M., KOINU WAS CENTRED ABOUT 820 KILOMETRES NORTHEAST OF
MANILA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 12
KILOMETRES PER HOUR TOWARDS THE VICINITY OF THE LUZON
STRAIT TO THE SOUTHERN PART OF TAIWAN AND CONTINUE TO
INTENSIFY.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW
 
MAINLY FINE APART FROM ONE OR TWO SHOWERS. THE MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE WILL BE ABOUT 28 DEGREES TOMORROW MORNING. VERY
HOT DURING THE DAY WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF AROUND 33
DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF DEGREES HIGHER
IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. MODERATE EASTERLY WINDS.
 
OUTLOOK : MAINLY FINE AND PERSISTENTLY VERY HOT APART FROM
ISOLATED SHOWERS IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS. THE
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE UP TO 35 DEGREES ON WEDNESDAY.
WEATHER BECOMING UNSETTLED IN THE LATTER PART OF THIS WEEK.
