LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES TO BRING HEAVY RAIN AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO THE PEARL RIVER ESTUARY. MORE THAN 600
MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL WERE RECORDED AT THE OBSERVATORY IN
THE PAST TWENTY FOUR HOURS UNTIL 4 P.M., AND THE RAINFALL
EVEN EXCEEDED 800 MILLIMETRES OVER THE EASTERN DISTRICT AND
SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF HONG KONG ISLAND.


 
AT 4 P.M., TROPICAL STORM YUN-YEUNG WAS CENTRED ABOUT 330
KILOMETRES SOUTHWEST OF TOKYO. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
NORTHEAST OR NORTH-NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 15 KILOMETRES PER
HOUR TOWARDS THE VICINITY OF HONSHU OF JAPAN.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW


 
CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL
BE HEAVY AT TIMES. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 25 AND
29 DEGREES. MODERATE EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS.


 
OUTLOOK : THERE WILL STILL BE HEAVY SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ON SUNDAY. SHOWERS WILL EASE OFF GRADUALLY
AND THE WEATHER WILL IMPROVE SLIGHTLY EARLY NEXT WEEK.
