LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
GENERAL SITUATION


A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE BROUGHT THUNDERY SHOWERS TO
GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS MAINLY CLOUDY WITH
OCCASIONAL SHOWERS AND A FEW SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS
WERE HEAVY AT NIGHT. MORE THAN 70 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL
WERE RECORDED OVER MOST PARTS OF THE TERRITORY, AND
RAINFALL EVEN EXCEEDED 150 MILLIMETRES OVER NORTH DISTRICT
OF THE NEW TERRITORIES AND THE EASTERN PART OF HONG KONG
ISLAND. THE TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO BRING
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE COAST OF GUANGDONG TODAY
AND TOMORROW.


 
AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, TROPICAL STORM YUN-YEUNG WAS CENTRED
ABOUT 420 KILOMETRES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF TOKYO. IT IS
FORECAST TO MOVE NORTH OR NORTH-NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 22
KILOMETRES PER HOUR TOWARDS THE VICINITY OF HONSHU OF JAPAN.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG


 
CLOUDY WITH HEAVY RAIN AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS. RAIN WILL
EASE OFF GRADUALLY LATER. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN
25 AND 29 DEGREES. MODERATE SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS.
