TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN
HERE IS THE LATEST TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN ISSUED
BY THE HONG KONG OBSERVATORY.
THE STANDBY SIGNAL, NO. 1 IS IN FORCE.
THIS MEANS THAT A TROPICAL CYCLONE NOW CENTRED WITHIN ABOUT
800 KILOMETRES OF HONG KONG MAY AFFECT US.
AT NOON, SEVERE TYPHOON DOKSURI WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT
540 KILOMETRES EAST-NORTHEAST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 25.0
DEGREES NORTH 118.6 DEGREES EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE
NORTH-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 28 KILOMETRES PER HOUR MOVE INLAND
AND WEAKEN PROGRESSIVELY.
DOKSURI HAS MOVED INLAND AND WILL WEAKEN FURTHER. THE
OBSERVATORY WILL CANCEL ALL TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING
SIGNALS AT 12:40 P.M. THERE WILL STILL BE SWELLS. MEMBERS
OF THE PUBLIC ARE ADVISED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE SHORELINE,
AND NOT TO ENGAGE IN WATER SPORTS.
LOCALLY, THE WEATHER WILL STILL BE VERY HOT TODAY. HOWEVER,
SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH DOKSURI
WILL ALSO AFFECT THE COAST OF GUANGDONG IN THE AFTERNOON.
A SOUTHWESTERLY AIRSTREAM IS EXPECTED TO BRING SHOWERS AND
SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS TO THE COAST OF GUANGDONG TONIGHT TO
TOMORROW (28 - 29 JULY).
