HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
GENERAL SITUATION
THE RAINBANDS ASSOCIATED WITH TYPHOON TALIM AFFECTED THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG AND THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA
SEA YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS CLOUDY WITH OCCASIONAL
SQUALLY SHOWERS. SHOWERS WERE HEAVY IN THE AFTERNOON. MORE
THAN 30 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL WERE RECORDED OVER MANY
PLACES, AND RAINFALL EVEN EXCEEDED 50 MILLIMETRES OVER TUEN
MUN AND ISLANDS DISTRICT. TALIM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS
THE VICINITY OF BEIBU WAN TODAY, MOVING INTO THE INLAND
AREAS OF GUANGXI AND WEAKENING GRADUALLY. HOWEVER, ITS
ASSOCIATED RAINBANDS WILL STILL BRING SQUALLY SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO THE COAST OF SOUTHERN CHINA.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
STRONG EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS, OCCASIONALLY GALE FORCE
OFFSHORE AND ON HIGH GROUND AT FIRST. WINDS WILL WEAKEN
GRADUALLY. SEAS WILL BE ROUGH WITH SWELLS. CLOUDY WITH
OCCASIONAL SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL
BE HEAVIER OVER SOME AREAS AT FIRST. TEMPERATURES WILL
RANGE BETWEEN 27 AND 30 DEGREES.
OUTLOOK : STILL SHOWERY IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS.
THE WEATHER WILL IMPROVE SLIGHTLY TOWARDS THE WEEKEND.
