HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
GENERAL SITUATION
TROPICAL CYCLONE TALIM INTENSIFIED INTO A TYPHOON
PROGRESSIVELY YESTERDAY. ITS OUTER RAINBANDS AFFECTED THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG AND THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA
SEA. LOCALLY, WINDS GRADUALLY STRENGTHENED WITH OCCASIONAL
SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. MORE THAN 10 MILLIMETRES
OF RAINFALL WERE RECORDED OVER MANY PLACES. TALIM WILL
CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY TODAY, AND MOVE IN THE GENERAL
DIRECTION OF LEIZHOU PENINSULA AND HAINAN ISLAND. IT WILL
BRING SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO THE COAST OF
GUANGDONG.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
STRONG TO GALE FORCE EAST TO NORTHEASTERLY WINDS, BECOMING
EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLIES. WINDS WILL WEAKEN GRADUALLY LATER.
SEAS WILL BE ROUGH TO VERY ROUGH WITH SWELLS. MAINLY CLOUDY
WITH OCCASIONAL SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS
WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 26
AND 29 DEGREES.
OUTLOOK : SQUALLY HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AT FIRST
ON TUESDAY. IT WILL STILL BE RELATIVELY WINDY AND THERE
WILL BE SWELLS. WINDS WILL MODERATE GRADUALLY LATER. STILL
SHOWERY IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS. THE WEATHER WILL
IMPROVE SLIGHTLY TOWARDS THE WEEKEND.
