AN ANTICYCLONE ALOFT IS BRINGING GENERALLY FINE WEATHER TO
THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. LOCALLY, THE
MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDED AT THE OBSERVATORY WAS 35.2
DEGREES IN THE AFTERNOON, THE HIGHEST SO FAR THIS YEAR.
TEMPERATURES OVER MANY PLACES ALSO ROSE TO 35 DEGREES OR
ABOVE.
AT 4 P.M., TROPICAL STORM MAWAR WAS CENTRED ABOUT 380
KILOMETRES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF KAGOSHIMA. IT IS FORECAST TO
MOVE EAST-NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 36 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS
THE SEAS SOUTH OF JAPAN.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW
MAINLY FINE OVERNIGHT. SUNNY PERIODS AND ONE OR TWO SHOWERS
TOMORROW. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE ABOUT 28 DEGREES
TOMORROW MORNING. VERY HOT DURING THE DAY WITH A MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE OF AROUND 34 DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS, AND A
