TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN
HERE IS THE LATEST TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN ISSUED
BY THE HONG KONG OBSERVATORY.
THE STANDBY SIGNAL, NO. 1 IS IN FORCE.
THIS MEANS THAT A TROPICAL CYCLONE NOW CENTRED WITHIN ABOUT
800 KILOMETRES OF HONG KONG MAY AFFECT US.
AT NOON, THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER EASTERN GUANGDONG WAS
ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT 90 KILOMETRES NORTHEAST OF THE HONG
KONG OBSERVATORY (NEAR 22.9 DEGREES NORTH 114.8 DEGREES
EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 15
KILOMETRES PER HOUR MOVE ACROSS GUANGDONG AND WEAKEN
GRADUALLY.
THE THREAT POSED BY THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO THE
TERRITORY IS DIMINISHING GRADUALLY. THE OBSERVATORY WILL
CONSIDER CANCELLING ALL TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNALS
BETWEEN 2 P.M. AND 4 P.M. TODAY.
THE OUTER RAINBANDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION
WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO
THE COAST OF GUANGDONG TODAY.
