HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
GENERAL SITUATION


AN INTENSE COLD SURGE BROUGHT COLD AND VERY DRY WEATHER TO
GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE
RECORDED AT THE OBSERVATORY YESTERDAY MORNING WAS 8.6
DEGREES, THE LOWEST ON NEW YEAR'S DAY SINCE 2005. THE
WEATHER WAS FINE. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY GENERALLY FELL TO
30 PER CENT OR BELOW IN THE AFTERNOON. UNDER THE PERSISTENT
INFLUENCE OF THE COLD SURGE, IT WILL STILL BE COLD, FINE
AND VERY DRY OVER THE COASTAL AREAS OF GUANGDONG TODAY.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG


 
FINE AND VERY DRY. IT WILL BE COLD WITH A MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE OF ABOUT 10 DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS IN THE
MORNING, AND A FEW DEGREES LOWER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES.
THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE AROUND 16 DEGREES DURING
THE DAY. MODERATE NORTHEASTERLY WINDS, BECOMING FRESH
EASTERLIES LATER.


 
OUTLOOK : TEMPERATURES RISING SLIGHTLY IN THE FOLLOWING
COUPLE OF DAYS WITH CLOUDIER WEATHER, BUT STILL RATHER COOL
ON SUNDAY MORNING. BECOMING COLD AGAIN IN THE LATTER PART
OF NEXT WEEK.
