HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.

GENERAL SITUATION

THUNDERY SHOWERS ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE
AFFECTED GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. MEANWHILE, A SOUTHWESTERLY
AIRSTREAM BROUGHT THUNDERY SHOWERS TO THE NORTHERN PART OF
THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. LOCALLY, THERE WERE SUNNY PERIODS.
THERE WERE ALSO A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS
INCREASED GRADUALLY DURING THE DAY. MORE THAN 5 MILLIMETRES
OF RAINFALL WERE RECORDED OVER MOST PARTS OF THE TERRITORY,
AND RAINFALL EVEN EXCEEDED 30 MILLIMETRES OVER SAI KUNG.
UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE, THERE
WILL STILL BE HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG TODAY. WITH THE UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE
DEPARTING, A CONTINENTAL AIRSTREAM IS EXPECTED TO BRING
GENERALLY FINE AND VERY HOT WEATHER TO SOUTHERN CHINA IN
THE LATTER PART OF THIS WEEK TO NEXT WEEK.

AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, SEVERE TYPHOON BAVI WAS CENTRED
ABOUT 280 KILOMETRES SOUTHWEST OF SEOUL. IT IS FORECAST TO
MOVE NORTH AT ABOUT 38 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE
YELLOW SEA.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG (THURSDAY, 27 AUG 2020)

MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS.
SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVIER IN THE MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL
RANGE BETWEEN 26 AND 31 DEGREES. MODERATE TO FRESH
SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS.
