STRONG MONSOON SIGNAL SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT (URGENT)

THE STRONG MONSOON SIGNAL IS NOW IN FORCE. STRONG WINDS
WITH MEAN SPEED EXCEEDING 40 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ARE
EXPECTED FROM THE EAST. GUSTS WILL OCCASIONALLY REACH 80
KILOMETRES PER HOUR.
IN THE PAST HOUR ENDING 9:30 A.M., THE MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS RECORDED AT WAGLAN ISLAND, TAI MEI TUK AND CHEUNG
CHAU WERE 56, 46 AND 45 KILOMETRES PER HOUR WITH MAXIMUM
GUSTS 63, 61 AND 63 KILOMETRES PER HOUR RESPECTIVELY.
1. IF YOU ARE NOT WELL SHELTERED FROM THE EAST, YOU ARE
ADVISED TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS AGAINST STRONG GUSTY WINDS.
FLOWER POTS AND OTHER OBJECTS LIKELY TO BE BLOWN AWAY
SHOULD BE TAKEN INDOORS.
2. SMALL CRAFT OWNERS SHOULD MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE
SAFETY OF THEIR BOATS. MAKE SURE THAT ALL DECK FITTINGS ARE
FIRMLY FASTENED.
3. SINCE SEA STATE IS VERY ROUGH WITH SWELL, YOU ARE
ADVISED TO STAY AWAY FROM THE SHORELINE AND NOT TO ENGAGE
IN WATER SPORTS. CONDITIONS ARE PARTICULARLY ROUGH OVER THE
OFFSHORE WATERS.
