LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
GENERAL SITUATION


A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE BROUGHT THUNDERY SHOWERS TO THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS CLOUDY WITH
SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WERE HEAVY
YESTERDAY MORNING. MORE THAN 80 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL
WERE GENERALLY RECORDED OVER THE TERRITORY, AND RAINFALL
EVEN EXCEEDED 150 MILLIMETRES OVER SAI KUNG, SHA TIN AND
TAI PO. MORE THAN 13000 STROKES OF CLOUD-TO-GROUND
LIGHTNING WERE RECORDED WITHIN HONG KONG YESTERDAY. THE
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT SOUTHERN
CHINA ON MONDAY. THE WEATHER WILL BE UNSETTLED WITH
OCCASIONAL HEAVY SHOWERS OVER THE REGION. WITH THE
ANTICYCLONE ALOFT STRENGTHENING, THE WEATHER WILL BE HOT
AND GENERALLY FINE OVER THE COAST OF GUANGDONG IN THE
MIDDLE AND LATTER PARTS OF THIS WEEK.

MAINLY CLOUDY WITH OCCASIONAL SHOWERS AND SQUALLY
THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVIER IN THE MORNING.
TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 26 AND 30 DEGREES. MODERATE
TO FRESH SOUTH TO SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS.


 
OUTLOOK : HOT IN THE FOLLOWING FEW DAYS. THE WEATHER WILL
IMPROVE GRADUALLY. STILL A FEW SHOWERS ON TUESDAY.
