HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
GENERAL SITUATION
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS AFFECTED THE COAST OF GUANGDONG
AND THE NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA YESTERDAY.
LOCALLY, IT WAS MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. A FEW MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL WERE
RECORDED OVER MANY PLACES, AND RAINFALL EXCEEDED 10
MILLIMETRES OVER PARTS OF HONG KONG ISLAND AND THE NEW
TERRITORIES EAST. BESIDES, A STRONG EASTERLY AIRSTREAM
AFFECTED THE COAST OF GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. A TROUGH OF LOW
PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER SOUTHWESTERN CHINA AND
MOVE TOWARDS THE SOUTH CHINA COAST GRADUALLY, BRINGING
HEAVY SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS TO THE REGION TODAY
AND TOMORROW.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL
BE HEAVY AT TIMES IN THE MORNING AND AT NIGHT. TEMPERATURES
WILL RANGE BETWEEN 25 AND 29 DEGREES. MODERATE TO FRESH
EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS, BECOMING FRESH SOUTHWESTERLIES.
OUTLOOK : HEAVY SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS AT FIRST
ON FRIDAY. SHOWERS WILL EASE OFF OVER THE WEEKEND, BUT THE
WEATHER WILL REMAIN UNSETTLED EARLY NEXT WEEK.
