HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
SHOWERS ARE AFFECTING THE COASTAL AREAS OF GUANGDONG.
LOCALLY, THUNDERY SHOWERS TRIGGERED BY HIGH TEMPERATURES IN
THE AFTERNOON BROUGHT MORE THAN 30 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL
TO PARTS OF NEW TERRITORIES WEST, AND RAINFALL EVEN
EXCEEDED 70 MILLIMETRES OVER THE SOUTHWESTERN PART OF
LANTAU ISLAND. MEANWHILE, A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE OVER
THE CENTRAL PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA IS BRINGING
UNSETTLED WEATHER TO THE REGION.


 
AT NOON, THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION EAST OF THE PHILIPPINES
OVER THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC WAS CENTRED ABOUT 950
KILOMETRES SOUTHEAST OF OKINAWA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
NORTH SLOWLY, LINGERING OVER THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT


 
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS AND SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS.
SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVIER IN SOME AREAS AT FIRST. VERY HOT
WITH SUNNY INTERVALS IN THE AFTERNOON. LIGHT TO MODERATE
EASTERLY WINDS.
