HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
GENERAL SITUATION


AN ANTICYCLONE ALOFT AFFECTED SOUTHEASTERN CHINA YESTERDAY.
LOCALLY, IT WAS MAINLY FINE AND VERY HOT. TEMPERATURES OVER
MOST PARTS OF THE TERRITORY ROSE TO ABOUT 33 DEGREES IN THE
AFTERNOON, AND SHOWERS TRIGGERED BY HIGH TEMPERATURES
BROUGHT A FEW MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL TO LAU FAU SHAN. THE
ANTICYCLONE ALOFT IS EXPECTED TO BRING GENERALLY FINE AND
VERY HOT WEATHER TO SOUTHEASTERN CHINA IN THE NEXT COUPLE
OF DAYS.


 
AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, TYPHOON JONGDARI WAS CENTRED ABOUT
160 KILOMETRES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF OSAKA. IT IS FORECAST TO
MOVE WEST OR WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 35 KILOMETRES PER HOUR
TOWARDS THE CENTRAL PART OF JAPAN.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG


 
MAINLY FINE APART FROM ISOLATED SHOWERS. THE MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE WILL BE ABOUT 28 DEGREES. VERY HOT DURING THE
DAY WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF ABOUT 33 DEGREES IN THE
URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF DEGREES HIGHER IN THE NEW
TERRITORIES. LIGHT TO MODERATE SOUTHERLY WINDS.


 
OUTLOOK : STILL HOT WITH ONE OR TWO SHOWERS IN THE
FOLLOWING FEW DAYS.
