HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
GENERAL SITUATION
THE NORTHEAST MONSOON CONTINUED TO AFFECT THE COASTAL AREAS
OF GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS FINE AND DRY. THE
MINIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORDED AT THE OBSERVATORY WAS 19.6
DEGREES IN THE MORNING, THE LOWEST SO FAR THIS YEAR SINCE
AUTUMN. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY OVER MANY PLACES FELL BELOW
60 PER CENT IN THE AFTERNOON. THE NORTHEAST MONSOON IS
EXPECTED TO BE GRADUALLY REPLACED BY AN EASTERLY AIRSTREAM
IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. TEMPERATURES OVER GUANGDONG
WILL RISE PROGRESSIVELY.
AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, TROPICAL STORM MEARI WAS CENTRED
ABOUT 650 KILOMETRES WEST-NORTHWEST OF GUAM. IT IS FORECAST
TO MOVE NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 12 KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS
THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC TO THE EAST OF THE PHILIPPINES.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG (SATURDAY, 5 NOV 2016)
MAINLY FINE. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE IN THE URBAN AREAS
WILL BE ABOUT 21 DEGREES IN THE MORNING, AND A COUPLE OF
DEGREES LOWER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. DRY DURING THE DAY
WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF AROUND 26 DEGREES. LIGHT TO
MODERATE NORTHEASTERLY WINDS.
OUTLOOK : MAINLY FINE WITH TEMPERATURES RISING
PROGRESSIVELY IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS. APPRECIABLY
