TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN

HERE IS THE LATEST TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE
HONG KONG OBSERVATORY.

THE STRONG WIND SIGNAL, NO. 3 IS IN FORCE.

THIS MEANS THAT WINDS WITH MEAN SPEEDS OF 41 TO 62
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED.

AT 11 P.M., SEVERE TYPHOON HAIMA WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT
370 KILOMETRES SOUTHEAST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 20.0 DEGREES
NORTH 116.8 DEGREES EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE NORTHWEST
AT ABOUT 25 KILOMETRES PER HOUR TOWARDS THE COAST OF

LOCAL WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN SIGNIFICANTLY ON
FRIDAY. DEPENDING ON THE INTENSITY AND MOVEMENT OF HAIMA
AND THE WIND CONDITIONS OVER HONG KONG, THE OBSERVATORY
WILL CONSIDER ISSUING THE NO. 8 GALE OR STORM SIGNAL ON
FRIDAY MORNING.

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE ADVISED TO CHECK THE LATEST
INFORMATION ON THE TROPICAL CYCLONE BEFORE LEAVING HOME FOR
WORK OR SCHOOL ON FRIDAY MORNING.

ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT FORECAST TRACK, HAIMA WILL MAKE
LANDFALL OVER THE COAST OF GUANGDONG TO THE EAST OF HONG
KONG DURING THE DAY ON FRIDAY. LOCAL WEATHER WILL
DETERIORATE SIGNIFICANTLY WITH FREQUENT SQUALLS AND HEAVY
