Appointments to Life and Health Technology Research Institute Steering Committee announced

The Government has set up a Steering Committee to consider proposals submitted under the programme. The Innovation and Technology Commission today (December 31) announced that the Steering Committee will be chaired by Professor Paul Lam Kwan-sing, with members from academic and industry sectors, and representatives of the Government. The appointments will be for a term of two years starting from January 1, 2026. The membership of the Steering Committee is as follows:

In line with the initiative in the country's Recommendations for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan to support Hong Kong's development as an international innovation and technology centre, and to advance research in key fields such as bio-manufacturing with a view to striving for significant breakthroughs, the LHTRI will promote basic and translational research in the field of life and health technology, accelerate the transformation of R&D outcomes, and attract top-notch scholars and scientists worldwide to help build a research ecosystem in Hong Kong, thereby contributing to high-quality social development.
