     The Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, visited Shenzhen HiGreen Wholesale Market in Shenzhen today (September 3) to have an in-depth exchange on the latest developments of modern logistics and wholesale and trading of agricultural products.
      
     Shenzhen HiGreen Wholesale Market is an integrated agricultural products trading platform and the only tier-one wholesale agricultural products market in Shenzhen. It is committed to ensuring the supply of agricultural products and food safety in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region.
      
     Upon arrival at the Wholesale Market, Mr Tse was firstly briefed by the staff on its planning, layout and major facilities. He then visited its agricultural products testing center, customer service center and smart center to learn about their work including the testing of pesticide residue, as well as their experiences including establishment of industry chain and ecosystem. He also visited the fruits and vegetables trading area and the International Commodities Center in the Wholesale Market to learn about the clearing and logistics arrangements.

     The Permanent Secretary for Environment and Ecology (Food), Miss Vivian Lau, and the Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation, Mr Mickey Lai, as well as officers from the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, also joined the visit.
      
     The delegation returned to Hong Kong in the evening.
