LegCo Panel on Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene begins duty visit to Nanjing and Yangzhou (with photos)

The delegation of the Legislative Council Panel on Food Safety and Environmental Hygiene (the Panel) began the four-day duty visit to Nanjing and Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, today (August 21) to understand the policy measures and latest situation in the relevant province and cities regarding the development of agriculture and fisheries, the regulation and the publicity and education in respect of food safety, as well as urban and cityscape management.
After arriving in Nanjing, the delegation conducted a seminar and had dinner with leaders of the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government to learn about the efforts in promoting the high-quality development of agriculture and fisheries, as well as enhancing food safety and urban environment in Nanjing. Both parties also exchanged views on how to facilitate cooperation and exchanges between Nanjing and Hong Kong in various aspects.
The delegation will continue its duty visit to Nanjing and Yangzhou tomorrow (August 22).
Led by the Chairman of the Panel, Mr Yang Wing-kit, a total of six members and non-members of the Panel participate in the duty visit. The Government delegation led by the Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, also joins the duty visit.
