     As Typhoon Koinu is moving away from Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory issued the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 at 11.40am today (October 9). It replaced the No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal at 11.50pm yesterday (October 8).

     The Home Affairs Department has opened 29 temporary shelters in various districts and 294 people have sought refuge.

     As at 11.30am today, the Fire Services Department and the Government's 1823 Call Centre received 25 reports and 19 reports of fallen trees respectively, while the Civil Engineering and Development Department received two reports of landslide. In addition, the Drainage Services Department has received seven confirmed flooding cases.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 10am today, 29 people (16 men and 13 women) have been injured during the typhoon period and received medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Department of public hospitals.
