Live broadcasts of New York Philharmonic concerts on July 4 and 5

     The New York Philharmonic (NY Phil) concerts will be held at 8 pm next Tuesday and Wednesday (July 4 and 5) respectively at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. To allow more members of the public enjoy the spectacular performances of the NY Phil, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has arranged live broadcasts of the two concerts. Music lovers should not miss the concerts.
 
     Under the baton of its Music Director, Jaap van Zweden, the NY Phil will collaborate with world-renowned violinist Hilary Hahn on Brahms's "Violin Concerto in D, Op. 77" in the first concert on July 4. The programme also includes Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op. 74, 'Pathétique'". In the second concert on July 5, the NY Phil will present Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67" and Dvoƙák's "Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95, 'From the New World'".
 
     Members of the public can enjoy the live broadcast of the concerts at 8pm through the programme website (www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalService/Programme/en/music/programs_1519.html#tab_6_0) on RTHK TV 32 or RTHK Radio 4).
 
       Two pre-concert talks (in Cantonese) will be held at 6.45pm on July 4 and July 5 respectively at the Foyer Reception Area, 4/F, Auditoria Building, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Details are as follows:

     Admission is free for the above two talks, with limited seats available on a first-come, first-served basis.
