Tender awarded for short-term tenancy in Yau Ma Tei for parking site with installation of automated parking system

     The Government announced today (June 30) that the tender for a short-term tenancy (STT) of one lot of government land at the junction of Hoi Wang Road and Lai Cheung Road in Yau Ma Tei (STT No. STTKW0037) for implementing a project on an automated parking system (APS) has been awarded to China Railway First Group (HK) Co., Limited at a monthly rental of $800,000. The term of the STT is five years certain and thereafter half-yearly.

     China Railway First Group (HK) Co., Limited is required to erect, construct and install an APS in the form of a puzzle stacking system so as to provide not less than 90 automated parking spaces out of a total minimum of 200 parking spaces on the site under the STT. The Transport Department (TD) will co-ordinate with the tenant with a view to commissioning the APS in mid-2024.

     The aforementioned location is the fourth STT site for installing an APS. The third APS at an STT car park located at Tung Chau Street in Sham Shui Po is expected to commence services in the first quarter of next year. The TD will continue to take forward APS projects to further increase the number of parking spaces and spatial efficiency.
