Appointment to Hong Kong Deposit Protection Board

The Financial Secretary, with the authority delegated by the Chief Executive, has appointed Mrs Yvonne Law Shing Mo-han as a member of the Hong Kong Deposit Protection Board for a term of three years from July 1, 2023.

The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Christopher Hui, welcomed the appointment and said, "Mrs Law possesses rich experience in the accounting field. We look forward to having her expert advice and support as part of the Board.

"I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing member, Ms Helen Zee, for her invaluable contributions over the years."

The Board is a statutory body established in 2004 under the Deposit Protection Scheme Ordinance. It manages the operation of the Deposit Protection Scheme, which aims to protect depositors and contribute to the stability of the banking system.

The aforesaid appointment under the Deposit Protection Scheme Ordinance was gazetted today (June 30).
