Update on bursting of flushing water pipe incident of Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital

The spokesman for Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) made the following announcement on an incident of bursting of flushing water pipe occurring today (April 25):
A flushing water pipe located on 1/F, Main Block of PYNEH burst at around 6.15am, which caused flooding in the lift lobby area and corridor on 1/F and G/F of the Main Block. Being affected by the incident, services of the Chai Wan Government Dental Clinic of the Department of Health (DH) and the Oral-Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Unit of PYNEH were suspended in the morning, while the Chai Wan Families Clinic of DH would remain closed for the whole day.
Flushing water supply to the Main Block and the East Block has been suspended. Some of the lifts have also been suspended from operation for safety inspection and necessary repair. The hospital has deployed additional manpower on each floor to provide traffic control and diversion, while emergency repair and clearance works are under way so as to resume the services as soon as possible. The hospital thanks patients and visitors for their understanding and co-operation.
The hospital has reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
