Home Affairs Department holds seminars on "Spirit of 'two sessions'" (with photos)

  Following the conclusion of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and the first session of the 14th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee ("two sessions"), District Offices (DOs) have held seminars on "Spirit of the 'two sessions'" to study the essentials of the "two sessions" this year and its important guidance for Hong Kong's future development.

     The Eastern District Office, the Kwun Tong District Office, the North District Office, the Sham Shui Po District Office, the Sha Tin District Office, the Wan Chai District Office, the Tsuen Wan District Office and the Wong Tai Sin District Office have each held seminars in recent days, inviting different guests to speak and share their views, which have enabled participants to proactively learn and implement the spirit of the "two sessions", and to better understand the latest policies and objectives of the country so as to seize national development opportunities and to better integrate into the overall development of the country.
 
  Guests at the seminars included member of the Standing Committee of the 14th NPC and Member of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Ms Starry Lee; Hong Kong Deputy to the 14th NPC, member of the Executive Council and Member of the LegCo Dr Stanley Ng; Hong Kong Deputy to the 14th NPC and Member of the LegCo Mr Chan Yung; Hong Kong Deputies to the 14th NPC Mr Frank Chan, Mr Lee Shing-put, Mr Chu Lap-wai and Ms Tsui Li; Hong Kong member of the Standing Committee of the 14th CPPCC National Committee Ms Connie Wong; Hong Kong members of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and Members of the LegCo Mr So Cheung-wing, Mr Rock Chen, Ms Priscilla Leung, Mr Shiu Ka-fai; Hong Kong members of the 14th CPPCC National Committee Mr Leung Che-cheung, Mr Lau Kong-wah, Mr Chan Man-chau, Mr Lin Chun-yan and Mr Lui Kin; Members of the LegCo Mr Edward Leung, Mr Yang Wing-kit and Mr Chan Han-pan; Advisor and founding member of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong Mr Kan Chi-ho; the Chairman of the Hong Kong Wan Chai District Association, Dr Baldwin Cheng; the Vice President of the New Territories Association of Societies, Ms To Kwai-ying; the Chairman of the New Territories Association of Societies Sha Tin District Committee, Mr Deng Kairong; and the Deputy Chairperson of the Hong Kong Island Federation cum Chairperson of Wan Chai District Committee, Ms Michelle Lau. Moreover, Deputy Director Generals of the Hong Kong Island Sub-office of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Mr You Bin and Mr Wang Hui; Deputy Division Chief of the New Territories Sub-Office of the LOCPG in the HKSAR Mr Zhou Wenling; and Deputy Division Chief of the Hong Kong Island Sub-office of the LOCPG in the HKSAR Mr Ren Haitian also attended respective seminars and delivered speeches.

  As of today (March 29), DOs have held 25 seminars and about 5 200 participants attended the seminars, including staff of the LOCPG in the HKSAR, members of the LegCo, members of District Councils, members of Area Committees, members of District Fight Crime Committees and District Fire Safety Committees and District Youth Programme Committees, members of clansmen associations, representatives from rural committees, leaders and members of district, youth and local organisations, figures from industrial, commercial and educational sectors, residents in the Districts and staff of DOs.

     DOs will continue to roll out seminars so as to enable more people to gain a deeper understanding of the spirit of the "two sessions".
