The ward staff member subsequently reported the incident to the ward manager. The hospital is highly concerned about the incident and has commenced an investigation and has reported the incident to the Police. The hospital will co-operate with the Police on the investigation. The staff member concerned is currently on leave.
The incident has been reported to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System. The hospital has explained the incident to the patient's relatives, and will continue to communicate with the relatives so as to provide necessary assistance.
AHNH attaches great importance to patient safety, and always requires its staff to uphold professional ethics stringently. If any inappropriate conduct is found, the hospital will follow up seriously.
