Online briefing for candidates of 2023 Rural Ordinary Election to be held on Wednesday evening

The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) will hold an online briefing for candidates of the 2023 Rural Ordinary Election (ROE) at 7.30pm on Wednesday (November 23).
The EAC Chairman, Mr Justice David Lok, will chair the briefing session and brief candidates about the electoral arrangement for the ROE, the guidelines on election-related activities and important points to note in running their election campaigns. A representative from the Independent Commission Against Corruption will explain the Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance. Representatives from the Home Affairs Department (HAD) and the Department of Justice will also be present.
The HAD has issued invitations to candidates and their election agents to register for the online briefing. Successfully registered candidates and election agents will receive login details and points to note. During the question-and-answer session at the briefing, questions submitted online by candidates and election agents will be randomly selected by a computer system.
The briefing will be broadcast live on Radio Television Hong Kong TV 32, the dedicated YouTube Channel (youtu.be/YtvuhGqgNbs), the website of the Information Services Department (webcast.info.gov.hk), the news.gov.hk Facebook page (www.facebook.com/govnews.hk), the HAD's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HADFB) and the Rural Representative Election (RRE) website (www.had.gov.hk/rre). Relevant information on the briefing and the ROE will be available on the RRE website for viewing by the candidates and the general public.
