Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases

As at 0.00am today (November 11), a total of 2 054 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 are currently hospitalised for treatment, including 290 new patients. Currently, there are 175 patients requiring oxygen therapy and 15 patients requiring ventilator support. Among the patients staying in isolation facilities, 449 patients are in isolation wards, 145 patients are in second-tier isolation wards and 491 patients are in the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, of which 208 in total are new patients. There are five newly reported critical patients and five newly reported serious patients. There are a total of 31 patients in critical condition and 47 are in serious condition, of which nine critical patients are receiving intensive care. Moreover, there are 218 patients who have recovered, including 179 patients who have been discharged. In addition, 10 patients who passed away in public hospitals were reported.
Three patients in a rehabilitation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19 infection since November 7. After investigation, four more patients also tested positive but had no symptoms. All patients are under isolation and in stable condition. Admission for the ward concerned has been suspended. Thorough cleaning and disinfection operations have been conducted in the areas concerned, while infection control measures have been enhanced.
In the fifth wave of the epidemic, there are 81 891 patients who have recovered so far, including 81 533 patients who have been discharged. And since early 2020, there are 94 271 patients who have recovered, including 93 913 patients who have been discharged.
The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
