Addition of railway station at Kwu Tung authorised

     In accordance with the Railways Ordinance (Cap. 519), the Government published a notice in the Gazette today (November 11) the authorisation of the construction of a new railway station at Kwu Tung by the Secretary for Transport and Logistics.

     Kwu Tung Station will be an intermediate station at the existing Sheung Shui to Lok Ma Chau Spur Line between Sheung Shui Station and Lok Ma Chau Station. It will serve the transport needs of the Kwu Tung North New Development Area (KTN NDA) and significantly reduce the travelling time between KTN NDA and Sheung Shui.

     The construction works of Kwu Tung Station are expected to commence in 2023 for commissioning by 2027.
