Fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan (2)

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident happened in Cheung Sha Wan this morning (September 22) in which a 67-year-old man died.

     At about 11.55am, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by the 67-year-old man was travelling along Lai Po Road towards Kowloon. When approaching the junction of Lai Po Road and Lin Cheung Road, it reportedly lost control, overturned to the right and rammed into barriers. The HGV then fell down from the flyover to Lin Cheung Road. A school bus travelling along Lin Cheung Road southbound suspectedly failed to brake in time and bumped into the rear of the HGV.

     Sustaining serious multiple injuries, the man was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre in unconscious state and was certified dead at 12.40pm.

     Besides, the 64-year-old male driver and three female passengers on the school bus, aged 46 to 74, were slightly injured and were sent to Caritas Medical Centre in conscious state for medical treatment.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
