Hospital Authority announces senior appointments (with photos)

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointments today (September 22).
The HA Director of Quality and Safety, Dr Chung Kin-lai, will be appointed as the Cluster Chief Executive of New Territories East and Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Prince of Wales Hospital with effect from December 15, 2022.
Dr Chung is a specialist in Emergency Medicine by background, and is a seasoned senior executive with extensive experience in hospital management. Prior to his current position, he was the HCE of North District Hospital, Chief Manager (Cluster Performance) in Head Office, and HCE of Castle Peak Hospital and Siu Lam Hospital. In his current role as the Director of Quality and Safety, Dr Chung leads and co-ordinates the HA's support to various government initiatives, including infectious disease control, disaster emergency responses, and genomic medicine development. He also steers the strategic directions in managing the waiting time of specialist out‑patient clinic bookings, and has established the future direction of hospital accreditation in the HA.
Dr Tsang Chi-chung will be appointed as the HCE of Kowloon Hospital and Hong Kong Eye Hospital with effect from November 25, 2022.
Dr Tsang is a specialist in Critical Care Medicine by background. He is currently the Chief Manager (Planning and Commissioning) of Kowloon West Cluster. Dr Tsang is an experienced senior executive with ample management experience, particularly in planning and commissioning of major hospital capital projects. In his current role, Dr Tsang has been responsible for managing the redevelopment of Kwai Chung Hospital, the expansion of the Lai King Building of Princess Margaret Hospital, as well as co-ordinating the time-critical establishment of North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre.
The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulate Dr Chung and Dr Tsang on their new appointments and wish them every success in taking up the new roles.
